Commonwealth Scholarship 2023 Application Portal. It is a fully funded scholarship for all students. The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO)is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students into their Commonwealth Scholarship 2023 for Master’s degree programs.

About Commonwealth Scholarship

Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), enable outstanding and motivated we aim students to achieve the knowledge and skills essential for sustainable development and at those who could not study in the UK otherwise.

Beneficiaries Expected: Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships are available to students from low- and middle-income Commonwealth nations who wish to pursue a full-time taught Master’s degree at a UK university.

Commonwealth Scholarships are given to talented individuals with the potential to make a positive impact on the global stage.

As part of the UK’s ongoing commitment to the Commonwealth, each year around 800 students are given the chance to undertake postgraduate degrees with UK universities.

If you are from a Commonwealth country and believe you could make a difference to the world but you can’t afford to fund your UK studies on your own, then you could be the ideal candidate for a Commonwealth Scholarship.

What is the Commonwealth Scholarship?

The Commonwealth Scholarship scheme is aimed at students from across the Commonwealth who would not otherwise be able to afford to study in the UK. By funding postgraduate studies in a range of different study formats, the scheme helps to support future innovators and leaders.

This historic award is the UK’s primary scholarship scheme focused on supporting British international development goals. It is designed to attract outstanding talent to UK universities whilst also supporting sustainable development overseas.

Who Can Apply?

To apply for a Commonwealth Scholarship, you must be a citizen or permanent resident of a Commonwealth country. You will still be eligible if you are a refugee or British protected person.

You also need to have an undergraduate honours degree of at least upper second class (2:1). If you wish to study a PhD, you will need an appropriate master’s degree too.

Finally, you must be unable to afford to study in the UK without the scholarship.

There is no restriction on what you can study but the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission gives priority to applicants whose studies are most relevant to their development criteria.

Financial Value

Each scholarship provides:

1. Approved airfare from your home country to the UK and return at the end of your award (the CSC will not reimburse the cost of fares for dependants, nor the cost of journeys made before your award is confirmed).

2. Approved tuition fees.

3. Stipend (living allowance) at the rate of £1,133 per month, or £1,390 per month for those at universities in the London metropolitan area.

4. Warm clothing allowance, where applicable.

5. Thesis grant towards the cost of preparing a thesis or dissertation, where applicable.

6. Study travel grant towards the cost of study-related travel within the UK or overseas.

7. If you are widowed, divorced, or a single parent, child allowance of £485 per month for the first child, and £120 per month for the second and third child under the age of 16, if you are accompanied by your children and they are living with you at the same address in the UK.

8. Also, if you declare a disability, a full assessment of your needs and eligibility for additional financial support will be offered by the CSC. The CSC’s family allowances are intended to only be used as a contribution towards the cost of maintaining your family in the UK.

The true costs are likely to be considerably higher. You must be able to supplement these allowances to support any family members who come to the UK with you.
