Joining a football Academy in Nigeria most times depends on the requirements but i will give you a run down of the basis of joining a football academy in Nigeria:

1.  Interested candidates who want join a football Academy must first go to any of the academy’s training centre and introduce themselves to the coaches.

2. The coaches will then make an assessment of the applicant’s football skills and attributes.

If the coaches are satisfied and believe that the candidate has what it takes, he/she will then  be given the Application and Registration form.

c  Candidates are allowed to take the forms to their houses to fill  them.

  1. Eligible applicants are to go with their parent(s) during their registration.

e Applicants are to submit their forms with other required documents.

  1. Once your application has been accepted, you can proceed to pay the necessary fees at the bank.

Types of football Academies in Nigeria

1.  Pepsi Football Academy (PFA):

Pepsi football is one that has produced some of the country’s most successful footballers. Some of them are: Elderson Echiejile, Solomon okorokwo, Joseph Akpala, John Obi mikel, Peter Osaze Odemwingie etc It was founded in 1992, presently, pepsi football academy has more than 3000 registered students.

2. Kwara State Football Academy (KWFA):

The kwara football Academy focuses on skill development and it is open to all Nigerians regardless of one’s place of origin. It is one of the leading football academies in Africa. It is an initiative of the kwara state Governor Dr. Bukola saraki. It is currently under seven coaches.

3. Abuja Football College (AFC):

This football college is one that is dedicated to developing young boys of school age with football talents and skills especially those of financially challenged background. It was established in April 2012. It has a residential suite that can accommodate 120 students and runs USA educational curriculum

4. Midas Football Academy (MFA):

This was established in November 2006. It is aimed at discovering soccer talents in Individuals in Nigeria and Africa at Large.

5. Papilo Football Academy (PNKFA):

This football Academy is owned by one of Nigeria’s greatest footballers who is Kanu Nwankwo. It was founded in 2001. The academy has over 200 players in Kanu’s estate in Owerri. It is also open to Under 15, Under 17 and Under 19 students.

6. African Touch Soccer Academy (ATSA):

This academy was established in 2002 by Rahman Ash, he is also the coach of the academy. It’s bas in Nigeria is in Abuja Municipal Wuse. It can currently accommodate 259 students.

7. City of David Football Academy (CODA):

This football academy was established in 2009 by The Redeemed Christian Church of God (City Of David Parish). It currently has under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 21. Most of the Students of the academy go to Optional school Lagos.

8. Edo State Academicals (ESA):

This football Academy was established in 2007 by the government of edo state with the aim to sustain extraordinary abilities in the state.

9. Barcelona Football Academy (FCBESCOLA):

How can I join football academy in Nigeria?

You do not have to go to Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) glasshouse office Abuja to register your football academy. Your State Football Association can register it for you. All you need do is to obtain the Registration form and pay the fees.
