Top 20 Most Interesting Movies (Updated). The good news is that movie theatres are open and recent blockbuster movies have brought in big money at the box office, proving that there is still a strong multiplex audience. Here is the list of interesting movies to download.

Top 20 Most Interesting Movies (Updated)

When the year 2020 began, the habit of visiting a cinema, buying a bag of popcorn, and immersing yourself in a film for a few hours remained normal. Over the past several years, streaming services such as Netflix and money-losing businesses such as MoviePass have yanked at the threads of the conventional theatrical distribution model, pushing the boundaries of consumer behaviour, but the industry has never seemed totally unsustainable.

Even as comic book blockbusters gained popularity and lesser titles transitioned to digital distribution, the big screen maintained its mythological allure. That is where the films were shown. The continuing epidemic has forced the closure of cinemas worldwide, upended the release schedules of studios of all sizes, and has the potential to permanently alter watching patterns for years to come. How did the devoted viewer end up as a result of this mayhem? With a plethora of films to choose from.

Whether you were hosting a socially isolated showing off the newest Christopher Nolan adventure, making the trek to a drive-in to see an old favourite, or just organizing your own programming block in quarantine, cinema had a part in helping people get through this trying year. These are the year’s finest films. Even yet, revenues for such films have been much lower than pre-pandemic levels, and the majority of big-ticket titles that have debuted concurrently in theatres and on VOD (or HBO Max) have come nothing near to confirming that paradigm’s long-term commercial sustainability.

That is to say, Hollywood is undergoing tremendous change, and it will continue to do so for the foreseeable future, particularly with highly anticipated blockbusters like Dune and West Side Story on the horizon. Regardless of the upheaval, 2021 was a great year for cinephiles.

List of Interesting Movies (2021)

1. Fast and Furious 9 (F9)

Released Date: June 25, 2021.

Cast: Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges star in the film.

Director: Justin Lin is the director of Fast and Furious 6.

Why it’s fantastic: Following the bloated Fate of the Furious, which sent the Fast franchise careening off the icy cliff of self-parody and into the freezing waters of self-indulgence, F9 serves as a necessary course correction courtesy of director Justin Lin, who helmed the series’ best entry with Fast Five and rescued it from direct-to-DVD limbo with Tokyo Drift. He’s obviously doing some essential tune-up work here, stripping the series of its components (adieu, The Rock!) and tinkering with the engine (welcome to some unexpectedly fascinating flashbacks of Dom’s adolescent years!).

If you find these boldly melodramatic, unapologetically silly films boring, F9 is not the film for you. The storyline is largely gibberish; John Cena does not make a very compelling antagonist, and the “comedy” segments effectively halt the film in its tracks. However, with Lin throwing everything he’s got at the screen, F9 delivers on the massive set-pieces, particularly when a magnet is involved, and Diesel, rumbling with each line reading, remains an enthralling screen presence in these films, which feel personal to him despite their ridiculous scale and unapologetic cheesiness.

2. Nobody

Release date: March 26, 2021

Director: Ilya Naishuller (Hardcore Henry)

Cast: Bob Odenkirk, Connie Nielsen, RZA, Aleksei Serebryakov

This is a film in which Bob Odenkirk knocks up a group of thugs on a bus and subsequently dismantles an entire army of criminals in a factory. If you’re a fan of Odenkirk’s work on Better Call Saul or Mr Show, the idea of the mild-mannered 58-year-old going full John Wick in a film scripted by John Wick writer Derek Kolstad is enticing. Nobody, fortunately, largely lives up to its concept, weaving together violent, bone-crunching combat sequences with a Bourne meets Death Wish meets Taken narrative that goes from set-piece to set-piece.

With John Wick: Chapter 4 now slated for 2023, Nobody may be the year’s most gratifying burst of sleek, nasty mayhem.

3. Venom: Let there be carnage

Release date: October 15, 2021

Cast: Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott

Director: Andy Serkis

Eddie Brock is still trying to get along with the alien Venom, who can take on human form and vice versa. Brock and Venom must put their differences aside to end serial murderer Cletus Kasady’s reign of terror after he becomes host to an extraterrestrial symbiote. Venom: Let There Be Carnage embraces the franchise’s sillier side in a sequel targeted directly at fans of the original’s odd pair chemistry.

4. Free guy

Release date: August 13, 2021.

Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Taika Waititi.

When Ryan Reynolds plays a video game NPC that becomes delightfully self-aware, why should you care? PLEASE SAY YES to the above-mentioned proposal. When we said “Ryan Reynolds,” We knew you’d pay attention.

5. Sweet girl

Cast: Jason Momoa, Isabela Merced, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Raza Jaffrey, Adria Arjona, Justin Bartha, Lex Scott Davis, and Marisa Tomei

6. The Suicide Squad

Release date: August 6, 2021

7. Black Widow

Release date: July 9, 2021

Cast: Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, William Hurt, Ray Winstone, and Rachel Weisz.

Fans have been clamouring for years for a Black Widow film to be made. Scarlett Johansson’s character has long been a favourite among Marvel Comics fans, so it’s a shame it took so long for her to have her own film with the studio. If you’re interested in the MCU, Phase Four will begin with this film.

8. Gunpowder Milkshake

Release date: July 14, 2021 (on Netflix)

Cast: Karen Gillan, Lena Headey, Carla Gugino, Michelle Yeoh, Angela Bassett, Paul Giamatti.

This hilarious assassin film has an all-female ensemble and will remind you of feminist Kingsman meets Promising Young Woman meets Charlie’s Angels. It’s well worth your time to see.

9. Infinite

Release date: June 10, 2021 (on Paramount+)

Cast: Mark Wahlberg, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sophie Cookson, Dylan O’Brien, Rupert Friend, Jason Mantzoukas, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Tom Hughes, Wallis Day, Toby Jones, and Liz Carr.

For those who have access to Paramount+, this is well worth your time. It tells the story of a guy who suffers from hallucinations and later learns that they are really visions from previous incarnations.

11. Those Who Wish Me Dead

12. Mortal Combat

Starring: Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Tadanobu Asano, Mehcad Brooks, Ludi Lin, Chin Han, Joe Taslim, and Hiroyuki Sanada.

Nostalgia. No matter how old the series is, we’re always excited to see it revived in a new way. I’m pretty sure you’ve watched the previous Mortal Combat movies.

13. Tenet

Release date: September 3

Cast: John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Kenneth Branagh

Director: Christopher Nolan

Tenet has the attitude of a more simple action film despite its time travel antics and theoretical physics lectures, given by beautifully dressed people as they walk through picturesque locations and eat over cups of tea with Michael Caine. As in Ethan Hunt, the nameless CIA operative in John David Washington’s film accepts a life-saving assignment and then sets out to do it without wrinkling his clothes.

14. Godzilla vs. Kong

Release date: March 31

Starring: Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González, Julian Dennison, Kyle Chandler, and Demián Bichir.

In this contemporary twist on the traditional monster film, two of cinema history’s most famous animals are brought together in an all-new way. There’s also the added benefit of seeing Millie Bobby Brown, who is always wonderful and inspirational in films (she appeared in 2019’s Godzilla: King of Monsters).

15. Boss Level

Release date: March 5

Starring: Frank Grillo, Mel Gibson, Naomi Watts, Annabelle Wallis, Ken Jeong, Will Sasso, Selina Lo, Meadow Williams, and Michelle Yeoh

Why it’s worth your time: You’ll enjoy Hulu’s Boss Level if you like time travel/action. It follows a former special forces agent who becomes stuck in a time loop due to a lack of resources.

16. Chaos Walking

Release date: March 5, 2021

Starring: Daisy Ridley, Tom Holland, Mads Mikkelsen, Demián Bichir, Cynthia Erivo, Nick Jonas, and David Oyelowo.

This sci-fi adventure, which is based on a series of young adult novels of the same name, is very creative and distinctive. Women seem to have perished in this world, and men’s ideas are aired like a radio program for everyone to hear. Because of Daisy Ridley’s talent to portray tough sci-fi ladies, Tom Holland, a kid who finds himself alone on the planet with no way to communicate his thoughts, joins forces with her to save her.

17. The Card Counter

Release date: September 10, 2021

Director: Paul Schrader

Cast: Oscar Isaac, Tiffany Haddish, Tye Sheridan, Willem Dafoe.

This is wonderful because there is a tattoo that says, “I trust my life to providence, I trust my soul to grace,” that is revealed on Oscar Isaac’s back in Paul Schrader’s newest serious character study. Fans of Schrader’s work will recognize William Tell, Isaac’s troubled gambling protagonist, as he sits at a desk drinking whiskey and writing. The lyrics are from a song composed for Schrader’s 1992 film Light Sleeper, a misty drama about sleeplessness and addiction.

18. Shiva Baby

Release date: April 3, 2021

Director: Emma Seligman

Cast: Rachel Sennott, Molly Gordon, Polly Draper.

This is wonderful because Emma Seligman’s comedy about a shiva gone horribly wrong frequently plays like a horror film, with the bubbes’ chattering becoming manic as the strings in the music increase. After a brief introduction, we learn that Danielle (comedian Rachel Sennott) is in the midst of a sexual encounter with her sugar daddy, Max (actor Danny Deferrari).

19. Bad Trip

Release date: March 26, 2021

Director: Kitao Sakurai

Cast: Eric Andre, Lil Rel Howery, Tiffany Haddish.

Pranks using hidden cameras have two purposes: those that are intended to humiliate or agitate their victims to the point of animalistic rage, and those that are merely designed to document human response in the face of absurdity. Even in its most egregiously absurd antics, Bad Trip, the natural continuation of The Eric Andre Show’s unexpected jokes, is the latter.

20. Shang-Chi and The legend of the ten rings

Release Date: September 3, 2021
Starring: Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Meng’er Zhang, Fala Chen
Director: Destin Daniel Cretton
Even though Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings follow some of Marvel’s well-worn formula, the film adds new dimensions to the MCU in unexpected ways. “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” from Marvel Studios, stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, who gets sucked into the web of the enigmatic Ten Rings organization, forcing him to face the history he believed he had left behind.
