May Ellen Ezekial Mofe-Damijo (1956 – 1996) also generally recognized as MEE was a Nigerian journalist and author who was the publisher of Classique magazine, a reality star and amusements journal that has ceased publication. The publication employed journalists such as Dele Momodu, Ben Charles Obi, and Rudolf Okonkwo.

Mofe-Damijo also wrote a few books including Dream Maker and Center Spread. May Ellen worked as a journalist for Sunday Concord. In 1985, she was an assistant editor for Newswatch and two years later, she became editor of Quality magazine which has now ceased operation.

Before her death in 1996, she hosted and produced a television conversation program called Mee and You on NTA 2 Channel 5, Lagos. In the wake of her first failed marriage, she married Nigerian actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), with whom she had a daughter, Oghenekome. After surgery to remove a fibroid, she died from complications. She had already had two fibroid removal procedures. Her death was caused by a second operation on the 23rd of March, 1996.

While she didn’t have steady employment or a place to live, she did all she could to aid others in need. As a result, she was able to provide food and shelter for the hungry and comfort for the bereaved. Those who had lost their mothers found a loving and irreplaceable mother figure in her. There is no doubt in my mind that she was the most trustworthy person I’ve ever known. She devoted her life to helping others, and she died doing the same. Because of the shortness of the day, she realized that she couldn’t keep God’s beauty hidden from herself.

To be a brilliant journalist, novelist, and woman were all goals she held dear to her heart. She was able to achieve some kind of grandeur. She established her own identity. She built her own universe and her own people.. The “MEE Folks.” Weekend Concord welcomed the “MEE People” thanks to her. She was a part of Weekend Concord’s success story. A member of the household. She was on her way to the hospital to give birth to her first child when she crossed the Weekend Concord Bridge.

That’s exactly what Weekend Concord predicted when they placed her on the cover. Millions of dollars rolled in. Classique, on the other hand, succumbed to her mother’s illness and perished. It’s a real shame that she has to be on our cover again. The colour of MEE is black. The colour black symbolizes death.

“She died spewing blood from her guts,” according to Dr MEE Mofe-Damijo, one of the medics who operated on the journalists who died. The six physicians doing the operation to remove the fibroid were taken aback by the “unusual” turn of events, according to the doctor.

“It was rare for that sort of procedure to have such an incident.” As the doctor put it, “someone on whom you performed a pelvic operation is now vomiting blood.” When we didn’t operate on the stomach, why would blood flow from there??” he said. The wound from the surgery had completely healed. Remember that we didn’t do anything to the intestines. ‘ Fibroid is outside of the intestines.

News crews have descended on the hitherto unknown Providence Hospital in Surulere after the terrible death of Mrs Mofe-Damijo. In the absence of Dr John Esangbedo, the hospital’s Director of Clinical Services consented to an interview on the condition of anonymity. Dr Esangbedo is the hospital’s top medical officer. I am not talking about a spiritual explanation when I say that the “strange” vomiting of blood has nothing to do with it.” Something like this would never occur to me. “Stomach bleeds are unusual,” says the doctor.

Conclusion

After surgery to remove the fibroid, she died as a result of complications. To remove the fibroid, she had two procedures in the past. On March 23, 1996, she had a second operation, which resulted in her death.
