Origin/History Of University Of Maiduguri (UNIMAID)
The University of Maiduguri was made in 1975 as one of the second-age Universities, which framed piece of the projects of the Third National Development plan (1975-80) by the then Federal Military Government. At commencement, the college didn’t have physical structures of its own, yet in April 1976 it acquired the premises possessed by the previous North East College of Arts and Science (NECAS). The structures handed down to the University by NECAS were sufficient as far as office squares, homerooms, staff quarters, research facilities and other physical structures necessity by a college of its size. The work force of NECAS were similarly retained into the University business and this made it feasible for the organization to begin its scholastic projects in October 1976.
