Hours after his placeholder dropped out of the campaign, Mr. Obi declared Yusuf Baba-Ahmed as his real vice presidential candidate at a news conference in Abuja.

The interim candidate, Doyin Okupe, informed INEC on Thursday that he had submitted his letter of withdrawal, which helped many Nigerians be ready for his actual successor.
